Acco Winch

Hello all, I have sheared the sheare pin in the winch on my MK3 Acco, can anyone tell me where to get one or any idea of threads and bolts to use?

Thanks in advance.
Does anyone know of a winch for an acco for sale somewhere?

G'day All, I don't have an ACCO but I do have a user handbook for the Mk3, it does have a diagram of the winch shear pin, and for all I know it could be drawn full size, so if you send me a PM I could take a pic of it and some measurements that might make sense to you, also you try REMLR.com as there is section inside that website dedicated to ACCO's cheers mate Dennis :sheep:

You can get to the ACCO chapter of REMLR at http://www.remlr.com/ACCO

it's a slowly expanding part of the website.

Hi there Acco Aus,

Pat who I think works for North Eastern Truck Wreckers (or at least used to) might be the best person to track down some shear pins for you! he is very good at tracking down these hard to find parts and specialised in ex army inters....

will pm you his details

I also have a Mk3 inter and the shear pin has been replaced by a plain bolt! I may have to track down the proper pin myself! these winches are pretty impressive, especially when they pull trees out of the ground roots and all! I have seen a mk5 inter lift itself up in the air by its own winch, when secured from behind by another rope!

G'day All, The good book states "if the load exceeds 20,000lbs  the pin should shear" so I think I would be looking to replace that Bolt with a shear pin, most shear pins that I have come across in my very limited experience are made from relativley soft materials so they will shear, but that is entirely your choice, anyway cheers Dennis :sheep:

yeah, you're right dinty... i'll definately have to replace that dodgy looking bolt... I'm halfway through restoration and its on my to do list :)

jerry can holder

While on the subject of Accos, does anyone know where I could purchase a jerry can holder for a MK3?

Also looking for dropsides, bench seats and canopy frame, but I think this might be a big ask!

Lynx,

Yes I would be interested in it if you could.
I have made a hsear pin out of a bolt that I have very carefully ground down to the samer shape as the original shear pin I still have the old broken one if someone needs it as a template to remake one?

Pete

A friend has some jerry can holders here in NZ, so PM me if you don't find any closer to home
