You just don't know what's out there.
 

I had a phone call from a bloke cleaning out his shed the other day. He said that there were two unopened boxes with military markings, that he had found in a shed on a property he had recently purchased. Was I interested? You bet! So I went to check them out and this is what I found.

Opened.

Condition. NEW.

Trying for size on my 25pdr.

I only opened one box, but the other is marked the same.
My 25pdr. was made in Scotland by G J Weir in 1940 and is number 266. It was one of the first supplied to the Australians during the Second World War.

Sorry Euan my lad, if you look closely you'll see the name of a certain Limber Gunners' Association here in Toronto stencilled thereon. Bad luck mate! :D :p

It's intresting to see that the box has a current (British) NATO stock number on it. I wonder if the MOD have a big stack of these in a warehouse somewhere :idea:
