Any of Our Canadian Freinds near Wetaskiwin, Alberta,Canada ?
I found this photo on the net and thought you guys should have a look at whats behind the jet !
:D http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...RCOURTE-13.jpg Looks a bit like the front of a gun tractor ? |
That would be my guess too. That old Reynolds character that collected all that stuff came up with all sorts of stuff. The next time I'm out that way I'll stop by to check it out. My daughter lives about 50 miles from Wetaskewin so I make it out there fairly often.

I heard he's been selling off recently. Apparently all the carriers went in one shot to BC.
|
Lots of the stuff is gone or spoken for. carriers, jeeps, the earlier cab CMP's and a bunch is being kept for the museum. :D
This is what I have heard. I was up there about a month ago and took these pics. http://img.mypicgallery.com/cmp/img-0150.jpg http://img.mypicgallery.com/cmp/img-0152.jpg |
Reynolds selling
A friend and myself were at Reynolds last week.
We talked to the fellow who worked there. All the 8 cwt went to Calgary (five). All the carriers went to Prince George. Right now, the 15 cwt are for sale. While we were there, they were towing all the ones they were keeping away. What was left was not pretty. A lot rust, most with no bodies on the rear. In the back field that is a Ford FGT. There is no rear body. There is a 3 ton Chev CMP ambulance with the body roof caved in. If I can remember there were two more CMP's, one a cab 12 15 cwt with no body. There were many US mv's, some in not too bad shape. When you get close up to all these mv's, there is a lot of damage, rot and rust. In all cases, you are looking at a total frame off restorations due to sitting out in the weather for so long. You won't find any "gems". We were told only the 15 cwt were for sale this summer. The rest will go next year starting in the spring. There is a mint 105mm aiportable howitzer, and in a previous photo, a 90 mm anti aircraft gun. The best truck was a Maple Leaf aircraft refueller. If I can figure out how, I will post the photos we took. |

I stopped in to talk to Stan yesterday and took lots of pix. The first bunch are not for sale but have data plates attached and I'll put the appropriate data plate with the picture for those of you who collect that info.
First is a 12 cab Ford 15 cwt. |

This is an anti tank tractor. It doesn't look like it ever had a winch so maybe Hanno was wrong about that on my C15 thread.

I better not forget this one! I tried to talk him out of it but no luck! The left # is off the frame and the plate is off the body.
The frame is really destroyed from winching I'd guess. |

This is a personnel version.

A van 2.

A Cable 2 with a different kind of camo scheme. The cab 12 and the FAT were the only CMPs that weren't cab 13s.

The body on this one doesn't look like it would make a very good water hauler.

I don't know why I missed getting a shot of this C60X but this is the rear end.

On this one I got too interested in the Arctic kit and didn't get a shot of the whole truck.

Now we get to the trucks that are for sale. Probably a third of them have boxes. There's about 35 trucks for sale.

When I was taking these pix I couldn't get far enough away from the data plates to get them all at once so that's why I had to add the extra one in the wrong place.

This one only had the model plate. I was surprised at how many data plates were still intact. Another thing that I noticed was that none of them had any wartime census #s on the doors. Any that were present were 51 prefix and up.
