Special Base Depot

Am, as always, trying to sort out a reference in a service record.

Assigned to 1st CACRU, individual is TOS "Special Base Depot". Qualified as Drivr. Mechanic Class III.

Any guess as to whether this is a transport unit, or something else. One suggestion has this as a punishment of sorts but I can find nothing on this in any of my sources.....
