Armoured Bedford Airfield Defence trucks

Can anyone help me with a query about the armoured Bedfords used for airfield defence please? A photo of one has been found and I need to find information please!! I can't find Bart Vanderveen's book that references have been made to in the past and wondered if anyone could send me a copy of the relative pages please?

Ackowledgements will be made in the article by the way.

David, wouldn't that be the OXA A/T ref. your threads Bedford Armoured Truck and Armoured Bedford?

Armoured Bedfords

Hanno, no...that was the 30-cwt Armoured A/tank truck designed as such....what I am after is the flame-thrower - equipped trucks as used by the RN, and also armoured personnel trucks [armoured rear bodies].

Here's another oddity...these must have been converted OY trucks but I can't read the census number and can't find any reference in the Census Book either.

David,
The armoured Bedford on the above website is not an OY, check the length. If you look closely at the nearest one, the rear wheel can be seen, judging by this it is the shorter model, the OX.

OXA?

I suspect that these are indeed OX chassis, namely the OXA, Census Numbers L 4410861 to 4411060? I have a photo somewhere of an OXA Anti-tank truck, as posted on the previous forum

It would appear that they were never actually used in the A/T role and instead were used as armoured recce vehicles?

Has anyone got Mr Vanderveen's book with the armoured Bedford references in it please?

RAF concrete-bodied Bedfords

A photo has been found of a LMS, Derby-built Bedford 2-axle chassis equipped with a "semi-submersible" concrete-bodied Bedford chassis with steel protection for wheels. Apparently the front has a sort of boat-like front and a recoiless rifle at the back. These were RAF airfield defence trucks, "N A R L ..." is on the photo. Anyone any idea please?
