Some more finds in my travels. Pretty rough but good bits still to be had off them.

Pics

Great to see new pics of CMPs!

Cute V8 badge on the Chev... wonder what's in it - it has ACCO tyres.

The other pair of Fords are not too long for this world parked under Cypress trees - there can be few things to make things rust better than the sulphuric acid formed when rain mixes with the pollen.

That must compete with salt on the roads for ferric oxide formation.

V8 Badge

Hi Keith,
The red Blitz with the V8 badge actually has a 6 cyl diesel engine in it. I'm thinking Fordson but are not sure. Hmm, where's a pic?

Sorry Keith. Couldn't see a single one. I believe most were x-forestry trucks. The last one to run was the red one, and that was ten years ago. Was used to dig out dams by tying a couple of 44 gallon drums together and hanging them off the crane. With one guy standing on top of them for support it would be a slow but cheap and effective way to improve the dam during the dry.

C60X

G'day, This is my first post. I picked up my first blitz a few months ago off a neighbouring farm without knowing what a c60x was, and keith webb has sent me in this direction to pick up a few tips. Are there many other c60x's out there? Just changed the sparkplugs, leads and dist.cap so it runs a bit smother now. My first time in it the radiator hose went so the cab got a steam clean!

C60X

Welcome to the forum , C 60X's are not that plentiful in WA so yours would be a nice addition to the ex military vehicles that are restored here.
Post a picture when you can as we would like to see it .
Regards
Jim S

Hi Daniel

There are a 'fare' few in NSW.

In the club i`m in (AMVCS), there are several in various conditions from running restored to sitting awaiting to be loved.

I also know of 1 or 2 sitting in yard near Penrith (western sydney) but they are pretty modified.

What are your plans for her?

Cheers,
Ian.

Ian.

G'day Ian, I am glad that there are a few of the other big X blitzes being saved from R.I.P (rusting in pieces) My truck was origionally a RAAF refueler, I dont know its war details, It was fitted with a howard porter tray i gess in the 60's and has been used on at least 3 farms around geraldton over the years, I know the last 2 owners. It was retired as a 5 in 1 bin truck in 98 or 99, sat in a shed for 2 years till our neighbour bought it to turn it into a farm fire truck. He had to sell it last year and I picked it up. As for what to do with it, I would love to find an origional tank for it but I dont think that will be possible, so I intend to build a general service tray. I have seen a few photos of c60x's with gs trays in europe and they look good. One thing I do need, are there any 10.50x20 rims around? my truck ended up with 8.25x20 dules (bedford rims) ot one point. :no4: :kangaroo
