You still can make out US star and serial.

And finally a mystery. This GM plate off an engine cover has a serial number but no build date. Why would that be?

That's a contract number.
Could be a Melbourne build. For some reason all of the Melbourne Chevs had the build date on the dashboard plate and not necessarily on the engine cover plate and Sydney was vice versa. Was there a dash plate present?

You know I was too busy talking to the guy and patting his dog to check. :doh:

But, thinking about it, you may already have this recorded somewhere Keith, as it is this truck. Powered by a Holden 161 and still in use today.

Speaking to the owner, he said it's actually a C15A that's been cut and stretched.

I must make a trip down to Anakie soon as i keep hearing to many Rumours out of that area of Vic

This is the one next to Fairy Park. The owner said it was mine for $1800, the cab is shot though.

Ahh yes, I seem to remember that.

And it's not James you need to be on the lookout for, it's those border raiders!

Actually trying to arrange something with that Dodge and another Chev Blitz as we speak.

I think Bob is temporarily satiated by his last border raid.

At least people like Euan have been trying to redress the imbalance with his recent import from S.A. - the CGT No8 which was a great prize and of course my F15 from Rust Hill.

Looks like the scuttle/cowl from a 1920s era car to me.
