EEP!
Thanks Barry! Now everyone will know that I like stuff other than CMPs and actually hang around fora other than this fine electronic water fountain!!!!
Having fun with many vehs right now... just installed, with the help of an 80+ vet and mechanic, a conversion kit on the flathead V8 in the LAAT so we can use modern and cheaper coils. I truely do dislike the diver helmet distributer ole Henry Ford stuck on the front of those great old flatties! Truck now purrs like a kitten tho' the timing is slightly off... again, can't adjust it while the engine is running unless you want your fingers all sepearated from your hand by the fan blades or belt!
Crawling around under the CMPs, the CCKW and the M135 Deuce sure makes you realise how much the philosophical differences in CMP and early M series vehs were. The CCKW seems downright small up against its Canadian cousin and its US/Cdn grandson! Yet it hauled as much cargo as either. The auto gear box in the M135 is a huge relief after a few hours grinding either the CMP or CCKW mixmasters!
If there are any other CCKW drivers out there please tell me what you do about the winch control lever digging into your right calf all the time!
Looking forward to BBB3
Cheers!
Mike
