Perry, you need go no further than the 23rd Field Regiment, RCA. There has been plenty written about it here on MLU - do a search on it - and our own Herb Danter is a WW2 veteran of the Regiment. I'm sure he'd be delighted to assist you in whatever questions you may have regarding markings and equipment.
In the meantime, if you give me a day I can give you all of the stock markings for 23 Field from my reference materials.
