Default Quiet Time at the Barn

With the exception of a short but productive visit by Bob, I had the run of the barn today. Todays programme included floor plate painting and the conversion of a "real" CMP brush guard to a HUP brush guard. What's the difference? About one half inch if you are talking bumper size (HUP is 5" vice 5.5"), and one inch if you are talking bolt hole location. The "regular" CMP guard sort of fits the HUP bumper and the lower bumper mounting holes match up. The upper holes are one inch too high. So, the Hammond solution: drill new holes and fill the old with weld (enter Bob). The following sequence shows how we tackled this challenge:

Disassembled original.

Drilled for HUP bumper mounting.

Welded.

Ground down (and later dressed square with a hand file).

Mounted.
