My theory for what it is worth, do the boring jobs while weather is to cold/ wet/foggy did i mention Cold and save the good tasks like working on my truck for the good days.
Most recent task was to strip the old door skin of front passenger door. Cut new metal, Fold top edge to include the swage line that is part of the original design [ and panel strength] then after cleaning all the crud that builds up inside the inner door panel off, Prime paint the inside, clean the lock assy and pack it with fresh grease. Finally place the new door skin in place, mark lock access slot in door top, cut out and check fit of lock and filler panel, as i have limited welding skill, carefully removed old captive steel bar that the three bolts hold lock cover panel in place with from old door skin then with two solid steel rivets in place of welds to retain the bar inside the new door skin. Then carefully fold the edges inwards to get outer panel in nice and tight. The task of marking the right place for the hinge holes. chain drill hinge hole carefully, forming the initial slot then using a series of files to remove just enough metal to line up hinge with bolt holes.
Again after applying primer [Bonda Primer]. Stopped! Just need some of that elusive sun light. As truck is out of doors in the weather, tasks like painting need Sun.
Wish you all a good rally season where ever you are.
The standards of restortion are fantastic as usual.
Would love to see some pictures!
