Hi Kevin,

Just a quick note to give you a bit more information re your 2pdr for your carrier restoration and reiterating what Darian has said.

"Still, as it was the only AT gun in production the British decided to increase production rather than look for something better. This probably kept the much more powerful 6-pounder (57mm) out of production for another 18 months as a course, but as noted here the final production models of the 2-pounder used the 6-pounder carriage, and that at least simplified the changeover to the more powerful gun."The 2-Pounder Anti-Tank Gun in Canadian Service, Doug Knight ISBN 1-894581-36-3

This is the answer that you needed. You are looking for a late production 2 pdr, with the 6 pdr sheild.

The six that I'm currently working on has a nomenclature plate that explains this also ( see attached picture ) and when we remove the trunion from the trail I will take photos to show you what it looks like.

I have not seen a 2pdr/6pdr before and don't know how easy one of these will be to find in your neck of the woods or across the water in Canada.

Good luck with the rest of your resto. Hope this information is of some assistance to you, please keep us all informed.

Pedr
