Ditto on the poisonous fauna. Generally, anything that will kill you is bigger than a human, and is taught to Canadian children from an early age (three species of bears, moose, walrus, bison, mountain lions, horses, bulls, ... ).
The only poisonous native snake in Eastern Canada is the Massassauga Rattler, which is very scarce. From time to time people get bitten by critters that come north in imported crates of fruit or bananas.

But you know, Sasquatch has a well-earned reputation for stealing hubcaps, peeing in gas tanks, smashing porch lights and scattering garbage cans. I've never seen one, but the old-timers told me all about them when I was a little boy.
