Default Oil Filter on the Flathead.

Hi, My flathead is fitted with an oil filter, looks like a standard canister type fitted to later flatheads mounted on the gearbox change mechanism top. A couple of questions.

I know this is not a full flow oil filter but there appears only to be one small hole in the centre oil channel pipe which the lid screws down on, this hole is about 3/4 the way up the pipe and cant be more than 1mm in size.

I am assuming the inlet oil comes into the filter on the outside and gets filtered to the inside of the element then passes through this 1mm hole back to the engine block.

Where does this oil go through from there back to the sump?

Also this appears to be such a small hole, the filter looks standard and not modified. Is this how it should be ?.

Also the inlet and outlet holes on the block, which is the outlet pressure side, outer most or the inner one?. Just want to check mine is plumed in the right way round.:
