Darrell and I come from the same school on this subject literly. We both cut our teeth driving an MLVW with the VIII CH in the mid 80's in Petawawa during our respective TQ3 Armoured training and the MLVW was a reletivly new truck. I remember being a Leopard Gunner in Lahr and being tasked to drive the Kitchen trailer to Saltau in the north because the cook had an impaired charge and no 404's. I did not have much experience but the truck was simple and easy to drive in a pinch.

My hate relationship was in the summer of 85 in Petawawa while training with the 2IRRC I was in the back of a MLVW with 17 others and few in the cab when the driver lost control and rolled the truck into the ditch. It sat behind F-16 for a while in the compound. I wish I would have had my camera to show how lucky we were that day. I always had a nervous feeling in the back after that.
