Default 71st

As I was uploading the latest news from Hammond, the house started to rattle a little bit as a formation of five vintage aircraft flew by with what I think was an old Lancaster bomber leading. I didn't have the camera nearby for a quick snapshot, but I did have it for the follow on fly bys of a RCAF CC130 Hercules, two CF-18s and the Snowbird Aerial Demo Team. This of course was part of the 71st anniversary of the Battle of Britain celebration at the Canada Aviation and Space Museum in Ottawa.

I had attended previous ceremonies in various capacities, but now prefer to watch the fly bys which happen conveniently in front of my house. Not to be outdone, Mother Nature put on an equally dazzling display of one of her greatest aerial hunters - a raptor. It was too far away for a better identification, and my cheap camera does not have the resolution needed for a better look.

Another interesting day in Ottawa.
