Default Tufor

Hi Robin:

I've got nothing to compare to as the last time I was in a Ferret was when you brought one out to the museum years ago! Last time I drove one was as a subaltern in 3 RCHA in the late seventies on an exercise with the Straths!

It is definitely running rich and I have a chum who knows RR engines who is going to clean up the carb for me... I'll probably need a carb kit if anyone knows a source.

All: I found the reference for the name TUFOR... it was coined for the movie I mentioned in an earlier post and stands for "Transitional Unification Force - TUFOR".

The big challenge right now is to figure out its British Army registration number. It looks like it should be 18EA56 as it is only 16 hull numbers from Jeff Mierins' 18EA40, however, Matt Taylor, keeper of the Ferret Registry, tells me that this is not always the case as foreign sales with the middle letters 'MS' were injected into the line and skewed the consecutive numbering. The search continues!

Brian: If you know the original British Army registration number I'd really appreciate learning it.

Cheers! Mike
