1945 HUP cable route
Hi Jason
On my 1945 HUP the battery is located drivers side directly under the driver seat and sits on the running board supports. The negative-ground cable is a short cable to the side of the frame. The positive cable runs over the top of the frame rail and under cab frame. Nearly a direct run to the terminal on the starter. The tap for rest of the electrical system is also attached to the lug on the starter. Hope that helps will try and find photo.
On my C60S I have installed a battery selector switch on/off combination to the under side of the floor cab floor. This lets me select either the 6 volt regular vehicle body or a 12 auxiliary battery used for CB and HF Radios. Great if the 6 volt doesn't do the job starting the 261 engine. In doing this the vehicle electrical system is connected to the 6 volt lug of the switch.
This switch also allows me to switch both batteries off.
Have not forgotten your request for wiring harness information, in process of rebuilding my computer too many photos at too high a resolution. I've got 56,000+ photos many 1-4MB per file. So file size plus cataloging is getting to be a major problem. But I have put a reminder on my calendar to remind me every Wednesday that I still owe you information.
Cheers Phil
