Default Bogie Wheel Re-rubbering

Guys,

I was able to take my bogie wheel to a company in North Bay, Ontario, Canada, that specializes in casting rubber. I had contacted them regarding our situation concerning the bogie wheels on our carrier (especially the badly checked left and right rear bogies) and they were interested in taking a look.
Their applications engineer took a Durometer test of the spare bogie rubber and he indicated that it was a 70D and that it was synthetic rubber. He informed me that the best that his company could do was 60D. I told him that we weren't going to war with our carrier nor were we going to be putting a lot of miles on the carrier either. He is going to prepare a quote for me to strip, re-apply a 60 D natural rubber tire and turn the tire to the proper 20" outer diameter and tapered width. We are going to have them do all 6 wheels on the carrier plus the spare. I should get the quote sometime next week and I will publish the information on MLU. If there are other interested parties out there, maybe we could coordinate shipment of bogies into North Bay and try and get a bit of a discount?

Regards, Richard
