I always wondered why they didn't make CMPs out of plastic. Nowadays every automobile/truck seems to be about 50% plastic and 50% very thin sheet metal or alumunium. My truck, a 2002 Lincoln Blackwood, has an aluminium bonnet, plastic wings front and rear, all plastic bumpers etc and a plastic bed. Only the cab itself and the four doors are of steel and thin at that.
Just joking a bit about the CMPs, but here in the States, all of the Modified Conventional Vehicles that are extensively used by all Arms have the same plastic construction as their civvie counterparts. Even the big Freightliner line haul tractors bodywork is mostly plastic (fiberglass really).
Neat photo, Keith.
