Fully agree with you Richard, up till now the Oxford crew have been using the British army version, nearly but not quite right, they miss the small pressing round the edge and the four mounting screws that hold the whole thing together.
The ones Keith has sourced look like the bee's knees. As he said they will under go rigorous inspection before being passed fit.
Like you we run with our mirrors vertical and find no problems, not even Steve with 11 feet of C30 tilt blowing in the wind.
take your point Martin about bikes, they tend not to be so much of an issue over here as in your country even with a modern 4x4 with BIG mirrors driving at end of work time around Arnhem can be a scarey experience
