Ah, BATUS. This tread brings back memories of Suffield . I was a young captain in 1991 when i was a candidate on the Combat Team Commander's course there. My first surprise was to see the amount of armour the Brits had there.I quickly surmised that they had more armour in BATUS that we had in ALL of Canada.
I was travelling around in a M113 then coming across Ferrets , Scorpions and what wa s the name of those tanks again ? Challengers i think. Now that was some equipment. Rows of hangars filled with them.
On the old BATF airport there were even Brit helicopters. They conducted a dust-off medevac mission for one of our guys to bring him to hospital in Medecine Hat.Poor guy. Lost an eye to a bungee holding his stuff in the rack in the back of a M113.The helo's were Lynx' s

if i recall.
Lots of Land Rovers on and off base also. Shopping center, grocery store , the works .If i recall they were right hand drive.
Have they changed the drivers's side on the LR 's lately ?
A beer to the one that knows the answer .
Thanks.
Bob
