I have seen the opposite of this happen too many times with various museums I have worked with. As an example, when the 1976 gas 5/4 ton chevrolets were leaving the service, I asked the museum if they were going to request one or some. The answer was nope, they were just an old truck. Well try and find one now.....very few in museums and very few in collectors hands. They are a good indicator of the poverty days from the 70s, 80s and 90s, when slightly modified off the shelf commercial vehicles were deemed good enough for the Canadian Forces.
Good on Ray Lambrecht for preserving the various vehicles over the decades, rather than just fire-saleing them out. I hope he sees a good return on them.
