The two hose setup I have seen on the F15...
On Chevrolets it is more a case of early trucks went from the frame direct to the wheel cylinders and later was frame to differential and then out to the wheels. There was a Chevrolet Service Bulletin listing the process to convert from the early setup to the later one. I don't know if the same thing applied to Fords. I haven't seen original documentation of the reason for the change but believe it is to do with the original long hoses being more vulnerable to damage.
