Default New armour museum

Hi All

I heard on the Macca All Over ABC Radio this morning an interview with a representative of a new "Australian Armour and Artillery Museum" in Cairns Queensland. They are looking for WW2 veterans who were part of tank crews. The museum people wish to interview the WW2 Tank crew veterans and they and their stories will immortalised as part of the new museum.

I checked out their website and reproduced part of the site below. I am sure there are some Aussie MLU members out there who may know some of those WW2 veterans and put them in touch with the museum

Cheers

Tony

The Australian Armour and Artillery Museum is scheduled to open by mid
2014. We are located next door to Tjapakai and Skyrail on Kamarunga Road Caravonica, a suburb of Cairns North Queensland. We have local government approval for our museum, with onsite earthworks underway.

We are dedicated to the collection, preservation, restoration and display of Armoured Vehicles and Artillery from the 1800’s to the present day. Our collection includes armoured vehicles and artillery from both world wars with a particular focus on WWII.

Currently our collection consists of 26 armoured vehicles and 24 artillery pieces, many of which will not be found anywhere else in Australia. We are constantly on the lookout for additional pieces of equipment that will make our museum a richer experience for those visiting.

Our progress on the construction of the museum can be followed on Facebook or email info@ausarmour.com
