I have looked through all my Ford parts books, and while they may have been printed too early for reference to No2 Brown (SE 39-42 Jan '42, F15A-01 may '43, FGT-01 Jul '43, F60L-01 Dec '42) they DO describe different canvas colours of Matte Green and Light Stone for the door tops, weathershields and tarpaulins, but not for the seats canvas.
In all the books, for all vehicles, the seat covers are:
C29Q-7864004 Cover, seat base cushion
C01Q-7860206B Cover, seat back cushion
There is no mention of what colour canvas these are, but I see that Dirk Leegwater has these for sale, and they are clearly Matte Green canvas. (Pic attached) Are the Chev part numbers the same?

Tony,
You must be right about only externally visible canvas being available in different colours. Makes perfect sense and the parts lists proves it. I have looked up the canvas parts in the C60X and CGT parts books I have, and found the following:
- C01Q7860052B (also listed as 5266144) / CUSHION ASSY., Seat
- C01Q7860206B (also listed as 5800262) / COVER ASSY., Seat Back Cushion
While for the seat canvas no colours are listed, the following come in
Matte Green,
Brown and
Light Stone (with different part numbers):
- CURTAIN ASSY., Cab Door
- BAG ASSY, Curtain
Interestingly, although the Curtain Bag is an interior part, it comes in three colours like the exterior Cab Door Curtains. Most likely these were supplied from the factory who made these canvas items in matching colour sets.
Attached goes a picture of my NOS seat cushion and NOS curtain bag, topped off by some canvas samples I got at War & Peace. The top sample is a light tan colour, the middle one is too green for
Matte Green and the lower sample comes close to the curtain bag - which is
Matte Green or
Light Stone? Clear as mud.....
