I thought 20k was about right for what was there... Rebuilt engine and uncut hull... Plenty of the right bits. As Lynn has already said, an average new car in the UK will set you back about 20 - 30k. Carriers are not in abundance, any ww2 armour will command money, and something that is easy....ish to move about like a carrier is even more...... And don't even think of trying to purchase German armour, unless you are seriously loaded.

I got my carrier at a good price, but look what I have had to go through to get it back to where it is now..... And it's still not finished ! Countless coins spent searching for bits... Hunting patterns out, re creating armour.....don't even get me started on the price of tooling.

Paul, this harks back to your initial thread about wanting a carrier... The project may seem expensive but it may save you on costs for tooling or making more bits. Not to mention time ! I am four years into my build partly because I work full time shift work, but partly because it is not a cheap hobby, and unlike some, I cannot throw top dollar at the project and get it done quickly. Which means when I am hunting for parts which others are also hunting for..... I cannot offer the same coinage to the seller to get it.... Ultimately it means I have to think outside the box....again it takes time.
