It may be worth spending the $35 and downloading the high res graphics of the vehicle. It would certainly give me a good idea of detail etc.
The model suggestion also has merit. I will have to check out what models are available

. Using the scaled up measurements and building a plywood mockup sounds like it may be the way to go.
Lots to think about on this one.
