Niels.

Either style of bracket is perfectly acceptable for your CMP. The key is the cup shaped base that holds the nozzle end of the extinguisher. There are even more varitations in the brass extinguisher. This cup disappeared in post war brackets that were either flat folded sheet steel with a spring clip, or a bent wire rod style bracket with a spring clip.

These extinguishers in themselves could fill ones living room if you wanted to make a collection out of them!
