Hello Mick,
The number on the carrier in your pic is most likely to be a C (Commonwealth)rego number, after I think around 2300 carriers the hull number became the ARN, hence 2539 is most likely to be the ARN it carried in service.
Mikes carrier book should clear it up for you(not sure where mine is at present), Its well worth getting.
