Default Nomenclature mystery

None of the units identified as B.P.C. went to civilian use, only to the defence forces. Over 7,000 in 1942.
This sort of production figure must surely relate to Blitz. Particularly as the vehicle/chassis referred to were sourced from Canada. What else could they be?
Perhaps B.P.C. = British Pattern Canadian nomenclature was used 'in house' instead of CMP?
Makes sense to me but only a wild guess.
