2-4 psi

Every reference I have seen says 2-4 PSI for the manual pump with the engine running at a speed equal to 30 MPH. When you say modern pump do you mean mechanical or electric.
According to what I found chevy mechanical pumps up to 1962 for 6 cylinders ran in this lower range.
Electric pumps are either low pressure or high pressure, I have found that the higher pressure ones tend to make the engine run rich.
There is also a flow test which is probably as important, as some pumps will produce pressure against a dead head but almost no flow.
