Contribution?
Mr Manual[s], I am going to offer a financial contribution towards the copying charges as this is clearly going to help everyone! I know that the GM of C service notes have serial number changes in them and thus we can date and identify. A complete set would be of enormous value but even a reasonable set would be of considerable assistance.
I have of course already scanned in and copied every page of the photographs in the GM War Album and I descreened them. With your better Vegenite-powered technology you may get better results than I did. My Marmite-powered scanner did a good job though.
I believe that the page with the desert scene trucks shows 1938/9 Chevrolets ordered through GM Near East, Alexandria, for the Trans-Jordan Frontier Police [see Wheels & Tracks] and also 1940 Model WA trucks ...the Water tanker may have been used by the LRDG in its infancy before the dedicated trucks [1941/2 Models] arrived. If we can get copies of those photographs made from the book I will pay for copies on a CD-Rom. However the shot of the bombed Southampton Plant is priceless to me....what a mess the Luftwaffe made and yet it could all have been repaired if the will had been there. Over 270 vehicles had been lost of which say 10 were Chevrolet sedans.
