Get the manual and do not be afraid to comply with the directions, in particular where words like 'imperative', 'must' and 'necessary' appear.

Once the linkages and rods are correctly set and balanced, the two brake rods (M and N in UC-F1 Steering page G-3) are adjusted to the point of requiring a pry bar to assemble the clevis pins. It is not uncommon on Canadian serviced carriers to find the far end clevis welded to those rods.

If you can insert those two clevis pins without the aid of a pry tool, and do not have correct clearance on the hand brake control bar, you can look forward to the hand brake control bar and hand brake lever causing creep when the foot brake is applied.
