Default CMP steering wheels

Hi Terry,

Thanks for that info. The nut C380066S is listed in the back of my parts book as "7/8-20 Steering Nut" which is the one for a 1" diameter shaft.

Couldn't find any other "steering nut" listed in the Standard Parts section of a 1943 F-15A Parts list but perhaps there is one in another earlier model's Parts List with the size listed in the Standard Parts section.

I note in the steering section there was a Part No. C11QF 3513A "Kit-steering gear conversion- complete. Used to convert vehicles in service from truck type steering... to a larger bus type steering".

On that basis I am still leaning toward a change from a commercial steering wheel early in the war to a dedicated CMP wheel later on but always open to other ideas.

Pity those 9N tractor steering wheels don't have a 1" diameter hole!

Cheers,
