Yes, the GS body will be going on that chassis. It was used as a fire truck in Admiral SK., and eventually ended up in a scrapyard in Shaunavon SK, where it sat for many years. The wheels had been removed, and used to fit surplus Run Flat tires onto one of their scrap handling BobCats. I am pretty sure Rob Love bought the convoy lights off of it years ago from the scrap dealer. in 2011 I got a call from a friend who was working in that area to inform me that the truck had been moved from its long time resting spot to the top of the scrap "processing" pile. I purchased it that weekend. Luckily I had some extra wheels and tires around to get it so I could roll it around. They get a whole lot bigger when you put them back up on wheels!
The donated truck still had most of it's fire apparatus as per the attached photo.
Does anyone have measurements or drawings for a 60CWT tailgate to fit this GS box? I would also like photos/dimensions for what the fender panels inside the box are supposed to look like. It would be easy to laser cut and bend these parts up at work if I have something for reference.
The 11cab came from one of the local scrap yards. It was hauled in last fall along with some WWII aircraft parts. The guys at that yard will often phone me when something interesting shows up. The cab is a GM Model 84-20 with serial # 0842002703. I think that makes it an 8CWT? The missing roof is typical of the sort of "wind damage" that occurs around here.
