I would suggest getting the manuals, reading them and then examining your jeep to comprehend what the manuals are showing you.
I would start first by making it safe- brakes, lines, tires, suspension and steering. Don't forget to have a look at the electrical system, an often overlooked part of many projects that is one of the most important.
