From the pics of Ford D series ACCO Studebaker, all the under tray boxes seem to have a lip running across the bottom of the door opening so the contents does not fall out when opened. For this reason I assumed the box was fitted in the orientation as per my photo?
Although it would make it way easier to remove a set of wheel chains.
