Hey Sean
It is quite obvious that the soldier of WW2 was quite a bit smaller than us lads of today... I think that I read somewhere that the average Canadian soldier was about 5'6 and 135lbs. Remember that Canadians had just come through the Great Depression so there weren't too many portly gentlemen around at the time. This is quite apparent if you have ever had the privilege of shoe horning yourself into a universal carrier or 12 cab CMP...
