Default Cold weather cabs

Having experienced part of two Canadian winters (yes, I know it gets colder than that) I can understand the need for cabs just to make the vehicles usable under those conditions.
Even though you Canadians generally don't take your CMPs out when there's salt on the roads I remember someone (was it Phil Waterman) talking about how cold it is in a CMP in the dead of winter.
Our winters here are so relatively mild the engine is enough to create a bit of warmth in the cab, especially a jet of warm air from around the handbrake in a Ford.
