I am sure this is the same one that I saw at an event on the coast in Hampshire (UK) and they drove down the beach into the sea aiming for the Isle of Wight. The current was strong and an inshore lifeboat was following them for a while. Eventually we watched them drive up the beach on the island. Later on we spotted it heading back, you could see the black exhaust smoke ............ which suddenly stopped and it was sometime before we saw it moving. Appantly a fuel problem. When they drove up the beach they got stuck on the timber sea defences and a wrecker had to pull them over the timbers. This was somewhere in the very early 1990's.
