Geoff, I am really sorry but I think the playing field is not very level right now. To one degree or another, I am having problems on virtually every site I visit. Foxfire seems to be pretty invulnerable but I only use it some of the time. That may have to change. Everyone has their favourite anti spam/anti adware/anti virus software and I have no idea which one is better.
What I do know is that I am running scans with whichever ones I have up to three times a day and they catch something almost every time.
I fear the bad guys have got a little bit of the upper hand right now. I posted to you and Karmen my experiences, just got the invoice today (Ouch) and while I am not crippled, I am not clean unless I run constant scans.
What baffles me is that of the stuff I was getting two weeks ago, adware or spam, was 99.999% of absolutely no interest to me and, I suspect, of no interest to anyone. The only conclusion I can draw is that if they get 1% of the recipients to respond they must make money on it.
Well, plowing already plowed ground but I must say the internet was a lot more fun 3 or so years ago when all we had to worry about was the occasional virus that did not affect most non-business users.
