I think you are right. Note also that the filter powder filling port (the small pipe on the side of the main body) comes out at a 45-degree angle on the postwar filter. The wartime filter has a 90-degree bend. Note I have used the terminology "wartime" and "postwar", but it is quite possible that the taller top and 45-degree filling port could have even been a "late war" improvement for ease of manufacturing?
