Andrew, For me and my Bren there is no info about what engine was in it, other than the 40 engines were ordered from the USA. (as was the rear axle with bolt on crown wheel) So I just chose the best I could find.
Anyhow, my fault for derailing this thread (even though it is already dead)
And FYI:
59C and 59T are 1945 year production (USA) (both truck engines)
69 = 46.
79 = 47.
It looks like C59 and C59A are Canadian 1946 production.
Other numbers include: 59, 59A, 59AB, 59L,59M, 59X, 59Y, 59Z, (USA)

It looks like both USA and Canada used these numbers but don't align.
Conjecture suggests that some Canadian 59 engines were produced as military as replacements.
