The one downside to the new MLVW windshields is that they are produced offshore. The metal does not seem to weather well. Brush some oil into the weather stripping between the metal and the glass. The oil will provide 2 functions...it will leave a film on the metal inside the channel, and will swell up the weatherstrip preventing water from entering the channel.

When I go out to the military scrapyard, I see 3/4 ton and 5 ton windshield frames that have been sitting out there for 40 years, and they remain solid. Then I look at the offshore stuff and some of it turns to dust in 5 to 8 years.
