Back to the cab mounts.....
On my cab 11 they used wooden spacers similar to the Ford pictured on the e-mail. The spacers on my cab where either ash or white oak..... obviously discolored and aged quite a bit the they had the similar open grain structure found in oak or ash.
I will probably reproduce mine in oak sealed with polyurethane topped with OD .....
At the CC2 when we took apart a Chev cab 12 I did notice the heavy.... at least 1/2 inch steel reinforcement plates..... in each corner area of the cab..... I had no idea at the time whether they were original or retrofitted...... seems now that they were factory modifications...... although I do not recall seeing any such changes in the service bulletins from Alex Blair.
???? for Max........ in the Ford picture of the pedal cluster... what is that little rectangular door in the toe board????
...again if Ford had the luxury of rubber pads on the pedals what did the Chev have..... bare metal pedals????
...and finally the legs might fit better the tight confine of the Cab 11/12 if the hair had been shaven!!!!!
On the subject of shared Ford/Chev parts...... my cab 11 has a Ford grill and Ford door handles........ might explain why it wouldn't start........hahaha
