It is one of a series of C8A HUP chassis converted into fire trucks, see
a few more complete and/or restored survivors here.
This one deserves to be restored as such, but as there are some (more) complete survivors, this one will most likely be reduced to a source of spares for the military versions.
Nice to see the coachbuilder's plate preserved:
