Wireless Van: The pre-war army vehicles are a dark green colour. Can't find a V338 in the AWM 126 book. 338 comes up as a 30cwt Chev.

The 'capacity hat' on top of the antenna is a method used to alter the radiation pattern = more efficient. A method still in use today.
