There is a market in the US for C5A1 conversions. As a result, there are even guys supplying nd even making up the necessary pieces to convert the M1919A4 into the C5A1.

I had a Wpns Tech CWO gently correct me, until I showed him the plastic covered C1 MG manual.
The D-ring cocking handle and slide with a safe notch were smart ideas. I remember being impressed by the extractor which didn't have a big hook and the two embedded ball bearings on the bolt face that kept the round from sliding off. There was a line in the lesson plan I remember that wanted gunners to scour old spare parts kits for the 30-06 extractors. All that is behind us now! The idea of hosing 7.62x51 downrange never loses its thrills! Except when the gun won't fire or only shoots single shots.
