Default WS No. 52 Aerial Base C2

A pretty good day today in the workshop.

I was able to readjust the jig to get the four side mounting holes drilled. It was interesting to discover that the diameter of these holes in the May 1944 Manual was given as 7/16-inch. However, The Issue 2 of the Parts Listing in July 1948 gave a diameter of 13/32-inch. So I pulled out my WIRE-5 Aerial Chimney and checked the actual hardware. Turned out the updated 13/32-inch diameter would work just fine so that was what I went with for drilling.

It took a little more fiddling to rejig for the four corner holes but Igot them done nicely enough and all eight holes ended up in exactly the right spot with 5/8-inch centres from the edge of the plate. Just to be on the safe side, I did a quick test mount onto the WIRE-5 Aerial Chimney.

Now I only have the cork gasket to fabricate for the bottom side of the plate and to seal all the cut surfaces on the plate.
